according to the examiner.com there will be a disability art contest for tasmanian residents this summer, to help disability artist increase their reach.
"The Tasmanian Disability Festival Art Prize will provide a state-wide platform for Tasmanian artists who live with disability to share their art. This prize aims to [recognize] the substantial artistic and creative talent within the disability sector while also providing a platform for sharing and connection."
the entries opened on july, 5th of 2021 and will judged by a panelist of people part of the organizations board. there will be 40 finalist and the competition will close out with the "peoples choice award" in december.
the competition is based on increasing the platform for disabled artist but also utilizing art as a medium for therapy. seeing as art, in many of its forms can have a relaxing process to it.
the registrants are asked to do a piece focused on resilience as the theme and also use 3d audio and visual art forms. the theme is open to interpretation but encouraged to focus on the "strength, vulnerability, adaptability," of the word.
