thanksgiving is around the corner. as we step into a season of gratitude and love, allow us to spotlight some comfy cozy feelgood movies that end in bliss and love. if we do that, what takes the cake?

falling inn love

starring christina milian, this romantic comedy does not center around the family dynamic of drama but it rather sheds light on the true dynamic of playing the game right and feeling as though the cards werent in your favor.  atleast that is how it begins. we see a optimistic gabrielle become a tad bit defeated by her everyday life as she is constantly met with riducle and the ego of an over powering man. in her work life she gets targeted and put off to the side by execs, and in her seemingly perfect love life, the picturesqe aspect of it is in reality holding on by a thread since her partner is vain, materialistic, and only focused on the optics. not to mention, extremely fem by nature.

later on, after thoughtlessly, entering a sweepstakes to win a prize that she believes is unrealistic, gabby gets a stroke of long luck in her favor. from then, th emomentum of the filmkicks in and we see her bustling with energy as her optimistic again begins to grow.

ultimately, going to a brand new location where she doesnt know anyone, does throw her for a bit of a loop as she ends up feeling abandoned and realizing the house isnt what it seems?

do good things still happen? yes! of course, to offset all the bad energy. she bumps in to a gorg young white man, who ofcourse “saves“ her. an interracial ”thing“ ensues, (quite literally) and he rides in on his horse (almost just as literal) and takes care of all of her troubles/worries. what her inner city men, saw as too stubborn, this natural cowboy mehcanic an dfarmer.. praises her can do attitude.

we give this an 8/10 stars for romance and 5 / 10 for comedy.. overall a 7/10 for great family movie. in this political climate it is great to be reminded that people are still writing these beautiful narratives. now, trip to new zealand anyone? lol
