...the best design yet?

new music alert:

one of the best new blues, jazz & funk artist, has released a track. with an upcoming tour happening, and a fresh ep set to release on 8/26 we are excited to hear the melodic notes of the handsome mr.jacob banks.

the singer has swooned audiences all over, and does not seem to be slowing down anytime soon. with new release after new release, social accounts thriving, the ladies are taking a likening to the vulnerability & rawness his songs are sung with. speaking of unrequited love, in the past, to now, speaking of optimism, mr. banks has highlighted that his latest tracks should feel more like a hug than just a listening ear.

but you know we always post about things related to the disability community, so, we love the fact that his last track, "by design" encompasses the risk taker & dare devil himself, evel knivel. for those who are not sure who evel knivel is, he was a sports motorcyclist who did terrifying, awe-striking stunts on his bike. In 2007 though, "He attempted to jump 120 feet and clear 13 single-decker buses. Knievel landed on the 13th bus, and much like his failed attempt in Vegas, his lifeless body and bike tumbled helplessly down the ramp and landing area."

so though the prodigy, did not have the greatest endings, he inspired many to take risk. not just on the road but off. in jacobs latest tune, he specifies that he understands the risk he may be taking by loving a particular individual. he reassures, that though he hopes it lasts and works out, he understands it may not & is okay with whatever may occur due to the lover being worth "it", whatever those risk, and whatever it is that may be exposing hardships.

we love the heroic tone of the ballad, the classic of it it all & of course, we honor hearing black men speak of love in such a unraveling way.
